3rd Annual Raleigh Rumble

Hey Everyone,

First of all I need to apologize for my failure to blog in a timely manor. Unfortunately, I've been having computer issues that will hopefully be resolved within the next week or so. Thank you for being patient with me!

On behalf of the Raleigh Sidewinders, I would like to personally invite you and everyone you know to the 3rd Annual Raleigh Rumble this weekend.

Rugby tournaments are a great experience for everyone, including children!

We are hosting the tournament at:

Vengeance in Virginia

The Sidewinders, family members, and support staff participated in our first rugby tournament of the season last weekend (Oct. 18-19).

As you can see, the Raleigh Sidewinders won 3/4 games; ranking us 2nd in the tournament!

Not only did we take home the 2nd place trophy, but we also took home 2 others!

Today some of the Raleigh Sidewinders athletes and volunteers sold raffle tickets and Chick-fil-a calendars at Walmart in Mebane, NC.

Thank you to those who helped support our team by making a donation and purchasing raffle tickets or calendars!

Practice Update/Raffle Tickets!

One of our practice locations has changed.
The new location, for Wednesday evenings, is as follows:

Laural Hills Community Center
3808 Edwards Mill Rd
Raleigh 919.420.2383

Saturday morning practice will remain in Cary from 9:30-12:30.

The team has also started selling raffle tickets in effort to raise money for upcoming tournaments.

The tickets only cost $1.00 each!!

The drawing will be held on December 6, 2008.

1st Place: $300.00 Visa gift card
2nd Place: $150.00 Visa gift card
3rd Place: $50.00 Visa gift card

In addition to raffle tickets, we are still offering Chick-fil-a calenders for $6.00.

We will be selling both calenders and raffle tickets at Walmart in Mebane on Sunday, October 12.

It is that time of year again.....

The 2008-2009 rugby season has begun!!!

Practices have been taking place twice a week in preparation for tournaments that being in October. The team would like to extend an open invitation to anyone interested in watching practice.

Practice schedule/locations are as follows:

Wednesday: 7-9pm
Barwell Community Center
3935 Barwell Rd.
Raleigh, NC

Saturday: 9:30am-12:30pm
Bond Park Community Center
Cary, NC

In addition to practices we have also started fund raising. Noting our schedule, you can see that we travel the east coast to attend tournaments. The funds that we raise go towards athlete hotel rooms, jerseys, equipment, etc...

Our current fund raising project is a Chik-fil-a calender for 2009 containing numerous coupons to be used during the 2009 calender year. The donation for a calender is $6. If you are interested in making a donation please feel free to contact Kelly (Kelsoo214@gmail.com).
